  1. Heart Cut Out Refashion for Valentine’s Day

One of my most popular repurposed t-shirts. So (sew) easy to do, using only a basic straight stitch. The hardest part is just sewing around the heart. Seriously, I get complimented everywhere I go when I wear this. And then people love that I made it from an old man’s shirt. And, it keeps getting better and better with every wash (because the heart stands out).

You can buy all these t-shirts from The Salvation Army or Goodwill, but you can also buy a bunch of men’s t-shirts in a pack.

Today's blog post is a heart cut out shirt tutorial for Valentine's Day! We'll upcycle a faded t-shirt into something really spiffy. Like most stay-at-home or work-from-home moms, I really don't have a need to dress up. This might seem kind of funny since I run a blog that has a lot of recycled clothing. Also, if you are like me, then you have some of these faded-out t-shirts hanging around.  Perfect for refashioning those t-shirts into something cool!

  2. Plain T-Shirt with Lace

Note: no worded instructions (photos only) – but she has good photos, so it will be easy to follow. Also helps that she’s super duper cute. This is a very simple upcycle that uses precut (probably stretchy) lace. You don’t need to put the lace up the front. You can put it on the sides (or even make the tee shirt bigger that way).

  3. Peplum Top

I don’t know what a “Peplum” shirt means, but I assume it’s the style. I’m not a big fan of gathered bottoms, but many like it. Comes with good instructions on how to repurpose an oversized t-shirt.

  4. Button Sleeve(less) T-Shirt

This is actually from more like a sweatshirt than a t-shirt, but it shows step-by-step instructions on how to fancy it up. I think you should put a button on the bottom of the sleeve (where it is cut) as well. If nothing more than for symmetry. But, I think it would stabilize the cut.

  5. No Sew, Lattice, Stud T-shirt DIY

I love all of Wobi Sobi’s designs. She amazes me because she’s so talented and creative. She takes a lot of inspiration from trendy fashion, and her upcycles are also trendy and fashionable.

  6. How to add fabric to bottom of shirts

I like the two-tones. This t-shirt refash would be very helpful in making a shirt longer. The pocket helps to make it look like you are just not wearing one shirt over the other.

  7. Canalis Shirt

Honestly, these strips look like they took forever to do! I love the effect.

  8. Emma Pillsbury T-Shirt Refashion

I have a not-so-secret love affair with bows!

  9. Pretty Cut Out T-Shirt

You can use almost any kind of template for the back. I’ve seen hearts, shamrocks, diamonds, circles, and just shreds.

  10. Anthropologie Inspired T

This t-shirt redo is fun because it cuts out the bottom part of the back, but the front stays the same.

  11. Totally Remake a Plain White Shirt with Dip Dye and Lace

I found this great lace collar on sale, and I just had to have it. I remade a shirt featuring it!

  12. Galaxy Twist Bleach Shirt

This is a beautiful shirt using pretty much nothing more than bleach and a little dye.

  13. Black Ruffle Around the Collar

Wow, such detail around this collar!

  14. Flower Collar Petal Power

    Another fabulous collar redesign!

  15. Layered T-Shirt Cutout

This layered shirt would be super nice in the winter time.

  16. Lace Collar Refashion

    Even more collar refashs!

  17. Dark Green Ruffles

This shirt is deceivingly simple. The results are awesome.

  18. Knotted T-Shirt

This refashion is like less than 2 mintues.

  19. Anthro-Inspired Hip Cinch

Another Anthro-inspired shirt, and this one has bows too.

  20. Esplanade Halter

Even more bows! I’m in heaven. 🙂

Would you wear any of these t-shirt refashions?
